Search Engine Optimisation
What is SEO?
SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) is the practice of optimising a website in order to improve its ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs). SEO involves implementing a variety of techniques and strategies, both on the front end and back end, to improve the visibility and ranking of a website by search engines such as Google.
What are the types of SEO?
There are two main types of SEO:
- On-page SEO: This involves optimising the content and structure of a website in order to improve its ranking by search engines. On-page SEO techniques include optimising titles and headlines; using relevant and targeted keywords; and optimising the structure of the website's URLs and navigation.
- Off-page SEO: This involves improving the visibility and credibility of a website through external means, such as link building and social media marketing. Off-page SEO techniques include acquiring backlinks from other reputable websites; participating in social media activities; and building brand awareness through content marketing.
Why is SEO important?
SEO is important because it helps businesses improve the visibility and ranking of their website on search engine results pages. By optimizing their website for relevant keywords and phrases, businesses can increase the likelihood that their website will be found by users who are searching for the products or services they offer. This can lead to increased traffic and sales, and can help businesses to compete more effectively within their industry.
